Meccanuity 2015: Table Set Up Day

Evening everyone!

I woke up today to an email from our TIMS Chairman, Chris Shute, with the great news that TIMS, WLMS, Meccanuity and of course Meccano, to be featured on BBC1's "The One Show" this Friday (tomorrow), as part of an engineering feature entitled "Meccano: More Than Just A Toy", with Grand Designs T.V presenter and designer Kevin McCloud being involved, along with fellow TIMS member, and indeed WLMS Chairman Matt Goodman showing off some of his fine Meccano creations.

Add to this some more good news that BBC Radio Shropshire will be attending on the Saturday afternoon to make some recordings for later use too, the Meccano hobby was at last going to benefit from some prime media exposure.

Alas, this afternoon I was told that the One Show feature had been cancelled due to programme time constraints, which is a blow, but keep spreading the Meccano hobby word folks! Contrary to the belief of some, the Meccano word needs spreading far and wide! Thanks to everyone who tried to get this feature off the ground.

It has been a busy afternoon at Enginuity, setting up the tables in the main hall, followed by fitting table covers, placing extension leads, cable covers and moving a mobile bar across a car park with just five of us to do all this, and not to mention the twenty four tables that remain to be set up tomorrow.
